VIVA LAS VEGAS 🇺🇲🎰🤩

It’s the final stretch of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship, and it begins with the Las Vegas Grand Prix in the heart of the City of Lights! Passing the famous hotels, casinos, and entertainment establishments for which the city is renowned, the 6.2km-long street circuit is one of Kevin Magnussen’s favorites. The Danish MoneyGram Haas F1 driver is back in the car after being sidelined due to illness in São Paulo three weeks ago. And he’s sooooo ready!

“I really like the track! It’s cool to be racing down the Strip. I just love street circuits, and Las Vegas is one the really cool ones. There’s a lot of high-speed action – not maybe so technical at high speed – but you’re going very fast around corners on these streets, and that’s exhilarating. There’s no doubt that when you race down the Strip and see Vegas so clearly, it’s a cool feeling. It’s still a tough schedule, though. It’s a late-night race, so the whole schedule moves toward the late evening, and it shifts your routine a lot,” says Kevin Magnussen.

DID YOU KNOW THAT… With an average lap speed of almost 150 mph, the Las Vegas Strip Circuit is among the fastest street tracks in the world. The 17-turn street circuit winds its way past iconic locations like Caesars Palace, the Bellagio, and the Venetian. The abundance of straights – highlighted by the 1.8km stretch of the Strip – means a low-downforce setup is favored by the teams.

Race Day

ALL SET FOR RACING IN VEGAS ✨👊

Are you ready for the big show of the weekend? Kevin Magnussen will start from P12 when the Las Vegas Grand Prix gets underway in just a few moments. Is there any chance of points?

“I believe so! The qualifying result doesn’t reflect our race pace, I hope. I’m optimistic. There were some decent laps, but it just didn’t feel like we had the pace from practice. There’s a bit of a question mark, as I expected us to be best of the rest, but suddenly I found myself behind a few others and I’m not sure why. P12 is still a position where we can score points. It’s a long race, and it’s far from over,” said Kevin Magnussen.

Race Recap

“It didn’t feel like we got the best out of it.”

No points for Kevin Magnussen in Las Vegas, where the Danish Admin By Request-powered Formula 1 driver finished P12. Still, it was a decent weekend for the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, as team-mate Nico Hülkenberg clinched P8 in the streets of Sin City.

“We did a one-stop strategy, which wasn’t the right choice, I think, and that’s why we ended up P12. The pace was good on the hard tire, but we struggled with graining on the medium. It didn’t feel like we got the best out of it. Great job by Nico, though, bringing the team back up to P6 in the Constructors’ Championship,” said Kevin Magnussen.
