After a tremendous race in Austria last weekend, with 12 points added to the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team scorecard, the show now continues. This weekend, the British Grand Prix takes place at the iconic ‘Home of British Motor Racing’ Silverstone Circuit – is Kevin Magnussen motivated for another race with an in-the-points finish?
“Absolutely! Last weekend was fantastic, not only for me and Nico but for the whole team. It gives everyone a boost, I believe, so let’s try and do another great job here in England. Silverstone is an awesome race with a cool track, and the fans there are classic Formula 1 fans – they’re real Formula 1 fans,” said Kevin.
“It’s always an exciting race, and as we all know, it often rains, but I always look forward to it. It’s not that much of a technical track, but with corners like Maggotts and Becketts – maybe my absolute favorite corners – it’s super high-speed.”

Based on a converted Second World War airfield, the 5.9km long circuit is renowned for its high-speed sections and its frenzied festival vibe – with 480,000 spectators attending across the weekend in 2023! It’s also nestled in the heart of the United Kingdom’s Motorsport Valley, with seven of Formula 1’s 10 teams based amid the surroundings of the venue, including MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, which has a factory in Banbury.

Kevin Magnussen is ready for another big battle at Silverstone. The Admin By Request powered Formula 1 driver will start the British Grand Prix from 17th after Saturday’s challenging qualifying in tricky track conditions:
“We boxed the car after I went off the track as the track was too wet, I thought. Unfortunately, I didn’t know it was going to be a short little sprinkle and the track would dry up in minutes, so we boxed and didn’t go out again. The track dried up and everyone improved their lap times. We’re looking to move forward of course, but I would’ve liked to be out there at the end to move through because clearly, we had the pace, but once again we didn’t manage to get through, not because of pace but because of other things,” said Kevin Magnussen.

“It’s positive that we keep scoring points”
Kevin Magnussen reflects on the British Grand Prix, held on Sunday at Silverstone Circuit, where the Danish Formula 1 driver finished 12th, while teammate Nico Hulkenberg – the only driver to run the upgraded car in the race – came in 6th:
“First of all, it’s great for Nico to score eight points today. That’s a really good couple of weekends for the team, and it’s super important. The result also shows that the upgraded car is better and leads the team in the right direction,” said Kevin.
“From my side, I wish I could’ve contributed a little bit more, but I didn’t have it at the end. The first part of the race was good; I was able to overtake a few cars, going from 17th into the points. However, the pace wasn’t that good in my last stint on the soft tire. I was graining immediately and just didn’t have a good stint. But again, it’s positive that we keep scoring points, and I look forward to going to Hungary.”
Kevin, Nico, and the rest of the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team now have a weekend off before going to the Hungaroring, Budapest, for the 13th round of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship on July 21.
